Weymouth Pavilion will shut today Friday 31st May 2013.

In reality it’s been shut for a few days since there have been no events or shows but Weymouth & Portland Borough Council cease running it after today.

Today is also the final day for submitting Tenders to run the building.

Now we have to wait and see what happens.  A decision must be made by Friday 21st June but hopefully scoring will not take that long if only a small handful of tenders have been received.

If we are successful and can move things along we want to be able to open The Pavilion in 3 weeks time for the weekend of 22nd & 23rd June.

It will be a challenge and will involve lots of hard work but definitely we’re up to it.

Writing the Tender has been demanding experience.  Many thanks to all those, including accountants and solicitors, that have given their time and experience for free to enable us to submit a professional document.

There is still a great feel in the community, we just want to be able to get on with it!
